NBA hall of fame Star Kobe Bryant has teamed up with investor Jeff Stibel to launch a $100 million fund for tech companies, according to the Wall Street Journal report.The investment coming from their personal pockets will not be just for tech but also for media and data companies and it is expected to last “the next few years.”

Kobe Bryant says he believes he has the ability to identify young and promising entrepreneurs.He also adds;
It’s the inner belief that a person has that he will endure no matter what the obstacle may be. It’s that persistence, the entrepreneur doing what he or she truly believes in and truly loves to do,” he said.
Jeff Stibel made it clear that the purpose of investing in companies is to add real values to them and not for someone to use Kobe as an endorser.

Kobe Bryant adds up to the list of NBA players that finance and manage startup companies which includes Steph Curry,Carmelo Anthony and Shaquille O’Neal.

This is indeed a good initiative from Kobe Bryant as he nears retirement from playing basketball.

Apple is currently working on the MacBook update that promises to be an outstanding one.The 13 & 15-inch MacBook Pro laptops that are coming soon promises to come with a retina display,a Touch ID sensor and an OLED  mini screen above the keyboard among many other new features.

The new MacBook is coming in a more unique form,its going to be more slimmer,lighter and would not come in the normal wedge shape like the 12-inch or MacBook Air.They are also considering on making more USB ports and probably changing it to USB Type-C ports to replace USB ports, the MagSafe port and even Thunderbolt ports as USB-C ports can support the Thunderbolt protocol.Also under the hood, Apple will most probably use the Intel Skylake processors, giving a performance boost and improving energy consumption. You can expect better Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chips as well,But the most significant addition will be a narrow OLED display right above the keyboard.

Sources like Ming-Chi Kuo from KGI Securities and 9to5mac have confirmed that this is not a rumor.

Reports say that Apple won’t introduce the new MacBook Pro at the iPhone launch event that will likely happen on September 7. We could expect Apple introducing the new laptop in October. It’s about time.

This should be an interesting news to those who have been complaining that the MacBook Pro is embarrassingly outdated. The last major update was in June 2012, bringing a retina display and a thinner design to the MacBook Pro lineup.

Motorcycle virtual reality helmet makers - Skully after a long period of financial struggles have officially declared the end of business.

The company has been struggling to get back to business but lacked sufficient funds to revive the slowly crumbling company.

Over the years reasons why companies shut down is due to poor financial & Business management which in this case led to the shut down of production business for Skully.

The company is now filing for chapter 7 Bankruptcy...too bad,for this reason customers who have pre-ordered for the $1500 AR helmet Skully was working on would not be getting refunds...this would not be good news to customers though.

A number of sources inside Skully confirmed that the startup had run out of money and was trying to sell itself off to a subsidiary of Chinese conglomerate LeECo called LeSport. However, a number of disputes, including the possibility of an acquisition, how the founders were spending money and several manufacturing issues, caused a rift to form between the founders and investors.All of the companies assets are now subject to liens held by a secured creditor.

Amidst all Skully had something to say to it's affected customers,and it reads;
Over the past several weeks our management team has worked feverishly to raise additional capital but unforeseen challenges and circumstances, beyond our control, made this effort impossible.
However, there is somewhat of hope for Skully’s customers. Smart bike tool maker Fusar has offered a credit equivalent for the whole amount any Skully customer paid for their AR-1 helmet under what it is calling the Skully Owners Stimulus (SOS) program.

Will the next 5.5 inch iphone also referred to as the iphone 7+ come with 3GB of RAM (Random Access Memory) ?.....well we are not so sure but we could at least hope for it.

According to KGI securities analyst Ming-chi Kuo for the second time now as claimed that the next iphone would come with a 3GB RAM for improved performance.Another report came from DigiTimes saying the same thing and this was what they had to say;
"Increasing built-in memory capacity at next-generation smartphones, including new iPhone devices, will further ramp up demand for memory products in the third quarter, said sources, noting that the mobile RAM capacity of the next-generation iPhone is expected to increase to 3GB from 2GB previously".
 Most reports from DigiTimes are sometimes mix tracked concerning Apple's upcoming product plans, but its supply chain sources have provided accurate information on occasion in the past.The increased RAM should prove valuable given the camera improvements expected with the new iPhones, including a dual-lens system on the 5.5-inch model.

Reports indicate that there has been a massive leak of login credentials for Twitter, one of the world's most used social media platform.

The number reportedly reaches 32 million. Their passwords have been compromised and are now online. The belief is that it is now on sale on the dark web, though Twitter maintains that the leak is not as a result of a breach of its systems.
“We are confident that these usernames and credentials were not obtained by a Twitter data breach – our systems have not been breached. In fact, we’ve been working to help keep accounts protected by checking our data against what’s been shared from recent other password leaks,” says a spokesperson for Twitter.
The leaked data is said to contain usernames, passwords, and email addresses of 32,888,30 users. LeakedSource, a search engine for leaked login credentials, believes that these credentials have been stolen through malware infecting popular browsers like Chrome and Firefox, instead of a breach of Twitter’s systems. The bulk of the users affected by this leak appear to be from Russia.
This hasn't been the only breach in recent times, both LinkedIn and MySpace have also suffered breaches such as this and as a precaution users are advised not to use the same password everywhere.
Different services should have different passwords and having a two-factor authentication enables on services that offer this additional security feature would not be amiss either.
