A little Birdie Said: Samsung's New Galaxy X Folding phone Rumored for 2017 release | Mobile phone latest news Google+ Follow Smartfonefreaks on Twitter

The S7 and the S7 Edge have made this a remarkable year as both phones are arguably the best things on the market at the moment.

Yet they want to take things a step further and release something even more awesome next year if rumors are to be believed.

Relatively reliable Samsung blog SamMobile, report that Samsung is planning on releasing as many as five new flagship phones next year.

There's the usual like that Samsung will be updating the Galaxy S series, with the S8 and S8 Edge or that they'll be
bringing out the Galaxy Note 7 and Note 7 Edge, follow-ups to the forthcoming Note 6.

What really catches the eye is the device SamMobile calls the Galaxy X (sounds cool doesn't it)- a revolutionary foldable smartphone, which can expand to be used as a tablet.

Now we know the S7 Edge already has a curved screen, but the Galaxy X would take things further. The phone has been in development for a while, under the codename 'Project Valley' (Sounding more and more like a spy movie), and leaks have so far suggested that it will look like a regular smartphone when folded, but will double in size when opened.

This could be a game changer for the South Korean company whose sales have suffered recently and the Galaxy X could put Samsung ahead of the pack, pushing them beyond everyone else.

Samsung is tight-lipped on this, therefore, there's no news on the release dates or prices of these futuristic phones.

But we'll keep our ears to the ground in case anything pops up-- not literally we hope.
