The Android 7.0 Nougat has been all the rage in recent times and has been available for use since August. Thanks to Google's new Pixel smartphone the Nougat 7.1 has surfaced.

It's very likely that more and more devices are going to be joining the party soon and will begin running on Nougat. Examples are the 2016 Motorola and HTC.

Android 7.0 brings more customization to the mobile operating system — the notification drawer is more functional, notifications are more useful than ever, and you can now do more work with split-screen mode.

You think that's nifty, well the 7.1 comes with such new features such as App Shortcuts, Seamless Updates, and support for Daydream VR. Naturally with every new operating system or update there are bugs that have not been fixed and affect certain devices.

Here are a few of the problems and ways around them. There may be a few more and if we find some we'll keep you posted.

Ambient Display problems

photo crd: Verge

Google Pixel users will be the most familiar with this problem and that's when the Ambient Display does not show up when notifications come through. The Pixel and Pixel XL do not have a “wake” function that shows the Ambient Display notifications when you pick up your phone it only turns on when you get a notification. It's worse for some people as they don't see anything at all.

Here's what you can do; You can do a factory reset. To do so, Head to Settings > Backup & reset > Factory data reset > Reset phone.

Another way is to try the Support team. For some people, they promptly got new phones. To get there, you just head to Settings and swipe left to the Support tab. You should be able to get a replacement unit.

If all you need is a way to have Ambient Display turn on when you pick up your phone then we'll recommend you download Ambi-Turner. It triggers the display whenever you take it out of your pocket or lift it up from a desk. Nexus devices with Android 7.1.1 Nougat have a “Lift to Wake” gesture in the Moves section in Settings. We imagine this feature will come to Pixel owners soon.

Bluetooth Issues

Photo crd: Android Authority

Another common problem some people have been facing is that they've been unable to connect  to their car’s Bluetooth especially Nexus users. For some people the problem is that their devices connect but then disconnect within minutes for others, they can connect and stream audio, but the device later disconnects and calls do not go through.

Here's what you can do; An over-the-air update was pushed alongside the November security update for Verizon Pixel and Pixel XL devices, and it mentioned improvements to Bluetooth connectivity. It’s unclear if this has fixed the issue, but a Pixel Community manager more recently said the team is still investigating the issue.

It’s unclear whether the issue has been resolved for Nexus devices, but if you haven’t yet, try a factory reset by heading to Settings > Backup & reset > Factory data reset > Reset phone. This has done the trick for some people.
If a factory reset didn’t work, try going to Settings > More > Network settings reset > Reset settings. Try connecting to your vehicle’s Bluetooth after to see if the issue has been resolved.

Reboots and Bootloops

photo crd: Tech Radar

The biggest culprit is the Nexus 5X and according to Google it’s a hardware issue.

What can you do? In this case nothing i'm afraid and the only way is to probably contact your phone's place of purchase and get a replacement.

Camera Issues (Purple/Pink Camera)

So far only Pixel and Pixel XL consumers have complained especially those domicilled in Europe. For them, when the camera launches, it often freezes with pink and purple vertical lines, rendering it impossible to snap a picture with.

Here's what you can do;  Perhaps get a third-party camera app like Open Camera, which seems to work as an alternative.

However there have been complaints that the issue comes back after some time with a third-party camera, so this is only a temporary solution.

It may be an issue with network connectivity. Try switching the phone to Airplane Mode by swiping down on the notification bar toggling the tile. You can also get the camera to work by turning off location — it’s another tile you can toggle in the notification bar.

Reboots also seem to temporarily fix the problem.
For some people, the solution was to turn off battery optimization for the Google Photos and Camera app. If you want to tow this line, go to Settings > Battery and click on the three dots on the top right. Hit Battery optimization, and click the drop-down to go to All apps. Scroll down and find the Google Photos and Camera apps to switch the setting to Don’t optimize.

Battery Issues

Photo Crd: Androidpit

For some Nexus users, they have complained about their battery draining faster than water in a basket. The issue seems to have appeared after the Android 7.0 Nougat update dropped.

Here's what to do; You can reset app preferences with battery optimization. To do this, head to Settings > Battery and tap on the three dots on the top right. Hit Battery optimization, and press the three dots again. You’ll get an option to Reset app preferences. You should start seeing improvements to your battery life afterwards.

These are some of the more common ones, if there are any more there should be further posts helping with information to potentially solve the issue.

With Xiaomi wowing everyone with their Bezel-less smartphone it seems their Chinese competitors Huawei could be releasing one of their own soon.
While other manufacturers like Samsung are also believed to be making smartphones with similar displays, it seems Huawei might be the next in line. The latest whispers out of China suggest that Huawei is going to launch its bezel-less smartphone on December 16th.
According to online sources, Huawei is going to source the display panel for this device from Samsung. The display panel on this device is rumored to be curved on all four sides and that’s how it’s also rumored to be for the Galaxy S8, but Samsung Display hasn’t made the panel public yet, and it’s unlikely that the company will let a competitor introduce it in the market before it.
With that in mind, it would be prudent to take the information with a pinch of salt. There has as yet been no announcement made on this possible development.
Huawei could do it though especially when you consider that they have ambitions to overthrow Apple in two years, to do this they are going to have to do some pretty amazing stuff and a Bezel-less phone might just be a good place to start.

According to Qualcomm, the upcoming OnePlus' phone rumored to be the OnePlus 3T — will be powered by the Snapdragon 821 SoC.

They confirmed the news a little while ago and the phone is expected to make its debut on November 14.

The latest rumors suggest the upgraded processor will be the key change in terms of hardware, with the OnePlus 3T likely to retain a 5.5-inch Full HD panel, 6GB of RAM, 64GB storage, and a 3000mAh battery.
The OnePlus 3T may also use a newer Sony IMX395 20MP imaging sensor with f/1.7 lens. On the software side of things, the phone will allegedly run Nougat out of the box.
The OnePlus 3T is barely a week away and excitement about it is at fever pitch. We can't wait to see the full package after all the teasing and hints.

Are you excited?

Samsung may have suffered in the court of public opinion after the disaster that was the S7, but they already have big plans for their next phone in the Galaxy series.
According to PC mag, the South Korean company is developing a new digital assistant for its upcoming Galaxy smartphone.
Some of the phone's prototypes include a dedicated button to easily summon the AI-based helper.
This move is hardly surprising as Samsung acquired an artificial intelligence company Viv Labs and they are going to use the interface with future Galaxy smartphones.
According to PC mag a Samsung spokeswoman said, "Samsung is excited to begin integrating initial AI capabilities into its future products and we look forward to sharing further details at a later date,"
Apart from the possibility of a new AI system, precious little is known about the Galaxy S8. The most anticipated piece of information perhaps is just when it will arrive although Samsung have said nothing about this.
Samsung have had a rough time of it, but despite the fiasco of the S7, they are still the leading smartphone retailer and are yet to be knocked off that perch.

So fans of the Chinese smartphone, Xiaomi can be get excited as their new offering the Redmi 4 is set to launch today.

The Redmi 4 should feature a 5-inch full HD display. Beneath the pretty surface lies a Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
According to some online reports, the Redmi 4 might be powered by a MediaTek Helio X20 deca-core chipset. The Redmi 4 is likely to be available in gray, silver, and gold color choices.
It is believed that beyond the Redmi 4, another phone called the Redmi 4A is also set to be launch. The 4A is set to be the even more affordable variant of the Xiaomi Redmi. The 4A is expected to come powered with a 1.4GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. The Redmi 4A will also have same camera specifications as the Redmi 4 with a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front camera. It will draw its juice from a 3,030mAh battery with connectivity options such as dual-SIM support, 4G LTE compatibility, Bluetooth, and GPS. On the software front, both the Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A will run the latest MIUI version on top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Rumors are also rife that there will be a variant of the Redmi 4A, which will offer storage expansion capability. However, there is no concrete evidence about the same.
So there you have it, are you excited about this? Would you like to get yourself a Xiaomi Redmi 4? Let us know what you think.

Samsung has finally stopped the production of the Galaxy Note 7 due to repeated issues of the phone overheating or exploding. This news has been going on for a while now and prompted Samsung to recall all Galaxy Note 7 phones on sale world wide.

Reports have it that Samsung had made a “final decision” to stop production.Giving no futher explanation as to why the decision was made.

Samsung also earlier asked all consumers who own the original Note 7 devices or replacement models to power them down and stop using them as it worked with regulators to solve the problem.

This has surely put a stain on the brand,as they could not resolve the issue thereby forced to end production.what would be the overall effect of ending the production of the Galaxy note 7?.

Reuters cites analysts estimating that a permanent end to Note 7 sales could cost the company up to $17 billion and coupled with the fact that the company has lost 8% of its stock price due to the action of investors wiping out the sum of $19 Billion off the company, this would be the companies largest fall since October 2008.

After Google officially launched the Pixel and Pixel XL Smartphone it was not different from the leaks which were released few days before the phones were officially announced.

Its seems to be much of a competitor with the latest Nexus phone generation and also so many comparison with the Iphone 7+ has been on.

Below is a review video of the Google Pixel and Pixel XL Smartphone:

We are about to witness a special phone from Google, and they are calling it the "Google Pixel Phone".So many leaks have been released and we have almost seen it all, maybe there could be just slight changes, but we look forward to see what the phone truly looks like during its announcement today.

The leaks got out when UK phone retailer Carphone Warehouse accidentally published product pages for both phones early and has since pulled each from its website. The two phones being the Google Pixel and Pixel XL.

The leak also listed some specification of both phone which we are not so sure about but could be the actual spec of the phone, the Pixel and Pixel XL are likely to have Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB of RAM, microSD support and a choice of 32GB or 128GB storage,The Pixel XL features a 5.5-inch 2K AMOLED display and a 3450mAh battery, while the Pixel comes with a less impressive sounding 5-inch Full HD screen and 2770mAh power pack. Both phones have 8MP front-facing selfie shooters as well as 12MP rear cameras,USB type C and fingerprint scanner at the back.

This is all that we have from the leaks updates, there's more to come after the official announcement.

Brand new from Motorola is the Moto Z play and here'a a review of the phone.Looking at it you may easily mistake it for the earlier versions Z and Z force...yes they look so much alike but have some different features.

The Moto Z play is thin, stylish and affordable unlike the other models this is the most affordable going for ($449.99),what also makes it different from the Z and Z force is the 3.5mm headphone jack which was missing from the Z and Z force and also a longer lasting battery. All Moto Mods from the stylish battery packs, mini boom box,and projector still works on the Moto Z play, there is also a new Mod called "the Hasselblad True Zoom camera that makes your Android phone look and feel like a real camera with 10x zoom and physical controls.

Lets see what this phone really looks like in the review video down below:

This is the end, hold your breath and count to ten.BlackBerry just quit the game of making Smartphones. The Canadian firm announced the news in its quarterly update, CEO John chen said in his speech,
The company plans to end all internal hardware development and will outsource that function to partners.BB Merah Putih, which is led by PT Tiphone Mobile Indonesia, that country’s largest wireless carrier, will pay licensing fees and royalties to BlackBerry.
Mr. Chen also added that the worldwide operation of BBM, the company’s once popular instant message service, was sold to another group in Indonesia. He also said that other companies would provide chips and other hardware to meet those customers’ needs.

According to New York Times,
The effect of the shutdown on BlackBerry’s financial results is unclear but it will most likely lead to a much smaller company. The company said on Wednesday that phones accounted for 30 percent of its revenue during its second quarter. Sales of about 400,000 phones generated revenue of $105 million and a loss of $8 million.

Fingerprint Scanner: The fingerprint scanner is might not be so exciting cause its a feature used by most smartphone these days. But unluckily customers in the us would not be getting this feature on their Xperia XZ for some reasons explained by Sony Senior Marketing Director.

Design:

The Xperia XZ has a very unique design which makes it different from others, the XZ comes with a hard metal body which Sony calls "Alkaleido",with the only disadvantage of leaving greasy fingerprints which you will have to always wipe off most of the time.

Well rumors have it that Samsung is working on its next Smartphone which is the Samsung Galaxy S8,and the question you might want to ask are,What would the phone look like?,when is the release date?,what are the latest updates?,how much would it cost?,and so on.

Well this is just a concept of what the S8 may look like and not really the real design. The release date is not known yet but it could be announced early 2017.The S8 is supposed to be an improved version of the S7 and previous generations so expect nothing but better features from the S8,rumors have it that the S8 would have a 4k screen built for VR Gear Headset and also a projector to view whatever is displayed on the screen on any platform. The price also is yet to be know but just have it known that it would not be cheap.

This is a view to what we think the S8 may look like:

The Apple iphone 7 and 7 plus as we all know is not out yet but have started getting pre-orders cause everyone wants a hand on...but you may want to ask how much is this phone really?....is it something i can get or is just going to be on my wishlist?.

Just so you know iphones have not always been for everyone,it is uniquely for those who can afford it,it's not out yet for those of you who may want to purchase on Jumia or Konga and other online stores but you can pre-order,and there are also no used one yet for most of you who may be looking for cheaper ones on Olx and Jiji.

with the current Dollar to Naira exchange rate Nigerians would be faced with a very high purchase price, below is the price of the iphone 7 and 7 plus at the exchange rate of ($1 = N315) in Nigeria.

How does it feel to have the Iphone 7 in your hands?

So many people have been able to have a hands on review of the Iphone 7 and now there is so much Iphone 7 talk everywhere even as we still await the Official release date of the phone.

What has changed ?

The Iphone 7 does not have so much structural change compared with the previous generations but it has some changes that users find cool and some that not everyone felt was necessary like the removal of the headphone jack and replacing it with Airpods (Wireless headphones).

This is overall the most debated and controversial feature or change of the iphone 7.Aside the removal of the headphone jack ,the iphone 7 still maintains its unique slim and sleek structure,it also comes with water resistance features and a well improved camera (for 7+) and screen for a better display and clearer pictures, also dual speakers for better sound.

How much does it cost?

Well Iphones have always been expensive so do not expect anything less, make sure your bank account is fat before considering to get the Iphone 7 or 7+.

  • 32GB   - $649 (£539, AU$1,079)
  • 128GB - $749 (£619, AU$1,229)
  • 256GB - $849 (£699, AU$1,379)
Is the iphone 7 overrated?

most people think the iphone 7 is overrated, probably because it did not match their expectations or maybe some of the changes didn't really suit their personality.Personally i would have preferred if Apple had not removed the headphone jack.Everyone has different perspective and taste and this lead to the big question.

Is the iphone 7 or 7+ worth upgrading to or would you rather save up some cash and stick to your 6 or 6s?

Its exclusive, the LG V20 smartphone comes with free Bang & Olufsen (B&O) play headphones. This is a very attractive combo as we await the release of the smartphone which is expected to be launched on September 6th.

Bang & Olufsen from time have been known for making high quality audio sound equipments, now combining with LG is a great spice to the audio quality of the smartphone. Now you have a headphone that can meat your audio quality standards attached to your smartphone, gone are the days when you would dispose the headphone that come with your phone just because they do not meet audio quality expectations.

Juno Cho, president of LG Electronics and Mobile Communications Company, added: "A growing number of consumers expect a better audio experience from their smartphones than what has been available in the past and I'm confident that the V20 delivers on these expectations."

LG assures that with the new LG V series smartphone, users will experience a new premium sound experience that they have never heard before."

This is actually a phone i would like to add to the list of my collections.Welcoming the new Motorola flagship Smartphone,it's called the Moto Z which also comes in a second version called the Z-force.

Motorola says it wasn't easy making a 5.2mm Thin Smartphone which i would definitely agree, looking at a device so thin....i wonder how they really managed to compress all of the components.

When it comes to Android smartphones made of metals there is always serious heating issues. So Motorola developed a liquid cooling system (a heat pipe solution) that would distribute the heat of the processor over a broader surface. This enables the Phone run longer and faster without overheating.

The video below gives detailed explanation of the Numerous and exclusive features of this Smartphone..See for yourself.
