Iphone 7 plus users will love the iOS 10.1 Beta update which has just been released by Apple, but for now only developers can access this Beta update before the public Beta arrives.

The iOS 10.1 Beta comes with a portrait 'Bokeh',this feature suites the iPhone 7 plus because of its dual lense feature. The feature, which creates artistic bokeh around subjects in portrait mode, leverages the iPhone 7 Plus’ dual-camera to get the bokeh effect.

Apples says the will use the phone’s rear cameras to generate a 9-layer depth map.The image itself is taken with the 56mm lens and the wide angle lens gathers depth-of-field information. This effect keeps the subject in focus while the background images stay burred.

As it seems the app works best in good lighting conditions, most people have have complained about its poor performance while some say it works perfectly well for them.

Since the app is still in its Beta state there is no need for worries, there is still time to improve the app.

The news about iPhone 7 not having the headphone jack really got alot of Apple fans devastated because these days, you can't do with out listening to music. Well that devastation is OVER! thanks to this company Daptr, who would be releasing a very sleek iPhone 7/7 Plus case. This case will let you charge and listen to music without having to carry around unwanted cables just like the image below.

Google has launched a new messaging app called "Allo" which is now available on playstore for download. The Allo app could be the next most rated messaging app as it looks to have better features compared to other messaging apps.

The app does not have video or voice calling features which was intentionally excluded due to the fact that google aims to promote their recently released Google Duo App which supports this features. But this does not make the app less interesting cause the app has so many fun features that users would find very attractive and fun to use.

Allo's Exciting Features:

  1. Smart word suggestion: The Allo app can read conversations and suggest words based on the conversation. That's why Google calls it a "smart messaging app".
  2. Incognito mode: This feature allows users have safer convos, when the incognito mode is turned on your chats self destructs within a giving period of time just like snapchat.
  3. Stickers and templates: With stickers you literally don't have to text much, there are lots of  fun sticker packs and templates to download.
  4. Google Assistance: With the help of Google assistance users can get quick access to making plans during chat, like getting locations for events, nearby places and more.
  5. You can start up group conversations.
You you have to do to start enjoying this great messaging app is to visit the google play store, search for the Allo app and install. But if shows coming soon you can pre-register to get notification as soon as the app can now be downloaded for installation.

Surprisingly Microsoft just announced the latest Nokia 216 feature phone via their blog and we think it's quite appealing to the eyes. Here's all we know about it.

Apparently few weeks back we learnt Nokia and Microsoft sign off a deal to sell their feature business to FIH Mobilea subsidiary of Foxxconn at around $350M but now that they just unleashed a new phone off the deal it simply means the deal hasn't officially kicked off.

Let's take a look at the spec for this new Nokia 216, it includes 0.3MP camera (Front and Rear with LED flash), 2.4inch QVGA display, Torchlight, MP3 and Video Player, Bluetooth (Bluetooth Audio Headset Supported), running Nokia Series 30 OS and a preinstalled Opera Mini browser, a headphone jack (Stereo Radio), Store upto 2000 contact, Battery Life 24days.

It also comes in 3 colors.

While rumor has it that by end of this year(2016), Microsoft and Nokia will stop producing the Lumia series. One can categorically agree that the Windows smartphone has gotten quite a low turn up from the smartphone community as we see Android and iOS topping the most used OS year-on-year.

In this moden age where also all smartphones no longer last due to the amount of time spent on Power consuming Apps, this Feature phone can be a great stylish back up phone for calls, listening to music, radio and also browsing lite for informations. I personally think it's a good phone and won't mind having one as my support phone.

It's rolling out first in India and later globally.

Good news to Instagrammers and Filter lovers because in the recent update to Instagram, you can now save your currently editing picture(Just incase you need to go back to your phone homescreen). Yea i know it's kinda complicated with that explanation but here's a diluted version.

You know the situation: you just spent 15 minutes perfecting the shadows and highlights on your next Instagram post, only to realize you’re late for work and need to rush. Now the Instagram app will prompt you to either discard or save your photo draft if you leave the editing screen.

Although some users have been testing this since July under the A/B Test.

Now that it's officially out it appears people seem to embrace it.

Once you start creating a post, you can save it as a draft and share it later:
  1. Tap  at the bottom of the screen, then take or upload a photo or video
  2. Add effects, filters, a caption or your location
  3. Go back to the filtering and editing step, then tap the back arrow in the top left
  4. Select Save Draft at the bottom of the screen

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is visiting Nigeria this week on his first trip to Africa, using his time in the country to visit the Yaba technology hub in Lagos, meet with developers and partners, and explore Nollywood.

Zuckerberg is in Nigeria to listen and learn and take ideas back to California on how Facebook can better support tech development and entrepreneurship across Africa. One of his first stops on the trip was to visit a 'Summer of Code Camp' at the Co-Creation Hub (CcHub) in Yaba, known as the Silicon Valley of Nigeria.

CcHub opened in 2011 and at the time didn't even have an office. Five years later they fill three floors and the roof of a building. At CcHub people can learn how to code, developers can get help launching their first products, and find mentors and funding. At CcHub Zuckerberg met with developers like Temi Giwa, who runs a platform called Life Bank that makes blood available when and where it is needed in Nigeria. Life Bank saves lives by mobilizing blood donations, taking inventory of all blood available in the country, and delivering blood in the right condition to where it is needed.

After visiting CcHub Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, said:

“This is my first trip to sub-Saharan Africa. I'll be meeting with developers and entrepreneurs, and learning about the startup ecosystem in Nigeria. The energy here is amazing and I'm excited to learn as much as I can.

“The first place I got to visit was the Co-creation Hub Nigeria (CcHUB) in Yaba. I got to talk to kids at a summer coding camp and entrepreneurs who come to CcHub to build and launch their apps. I'm looking forward to meeting more people in Nigeria.”

Meeting developers at Andela Mark then went to Andela, an engineering organization that is building the next generation of technical leaders in Africa. Andela is a business that recruits the most talented technologists in Africa and shapes them into world-class developers through a four-year technical leadership program. In the two years since it was founded, Andela has accepted just over 200 engineers from a pool of more than 40,000 applicants.

Andela developers spend six months mastering a technical stack and contributing to open source projects before being placed with global technology companies as full-time, distributed teammates, working out of Andela headquarters in Lagos and Nairobi.

Earlier this year, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative invested in Andela after being impressed by the company's innovative model of learning and its drive to connect the global technology ecosystem with the most talented developers in Africa. Seni Sulyman, Director, Andela Lagos, said:

“We are excited and honored to welcome Mark Zuckerberg to Lagos. His visit reinforces not only his support of Andela’s mission, but his belief that indeed the next generation of great technology leaders will come out of Lagos, Nigeria and cities across Africa.

Andela has created a platform for passionate, driven software developers and engineers to break into the global tech ecosystem, but the barriers to entry are still very high. Mark’s visit demonstrates to all Nigerian developers and entrepreneurs that they’ve caught the attention of the tech world, and they are capable of succeeding on a truly global level."

At the end of the day Zuckerberg stopped by an Express WiFi stand in Lagos owned by Rosemary Njoku. Facebook's Express WiFi lets entrepreneurs like Rosemary set up a hot spot to help their community access apps and services built by local developers.

Officially Blackberry  Hub+ is now available on google play store for download. On Wednesday Blackberry announced that it's Blackberry Hub+ App Which was available only for Blackberry 10 - PRIV and DTECK50 would now be accessible to over 1 billion android smartphone users.isn't that awesome?!

BlackBerry Hub+ is the first pure software offering from the new Mobility Solutions Group. The BlackBerry Hub is a one-stop destination that provides a look at all of your notifications, including those from email, social networks, calendars and more. It’s one of my favorite features on the BlackBerry Priv, since it lets me look at everything in one long list of notifications. Some might find that a little overwhelming, though, so it’s certainly not for everyone. The BlackBerry Hub+ suite also includes BlackBerry Calendar, Password Keeper, Contacts, Tasks, Device Search, Notes and Launcher. Those are all pretty good, but there are also plenty of alternatives on the market.

However, starting today, you can make a dent in your overstuffed social and e-mail accounts by downloading a trial version of Hub+ for free from Google Play. Note: the BlackBerry Hub+ applications are available only for devices running Android 6.0 Marshmallow which meet certain performance criteria. After 30 days, users can continue using the apps for free by opting to view occasional ads, or subscribe to the entire suite of apps for just 99 cents a month, which will include additional powerful time-saving features.

Users running on Android 5.0 lollipop and IOS are not left out cause Bleckberry promises to bring the experience to those devices soon, also promising to bring more blackberry experiences too.

Samsung considers venturing into automobiles.According to Bloomberg's report Samsung is to buy some or all of the operations of auto-parts maker Magneti Marelli from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV.which provides lighting, in-car entertainment and telematics to OEMs for use in their vehicles.

The deal could be worth more than $3 billion with a goal of closing this year making it the biggest deal for fiat since october 2014.

This is a profitable idea from samsung as it will help them gain more ground in the tech world, not just having a reputation of making smartphones and electronics.

Vice Chairman Lee Jae Yong, 48, is reshaping South Korea’s biggest company,Lee, who has been a director of Fiat Chrysler’s controlling shareholder Exor SpA since 2012, would also position his company to benefit from the rising interest in cars from technology companny.

Lets see this as a progress from samsung as a step  into grater technology advancement.

Well-known mobile phone leaker Evan Blass over  the weekend predicted that the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus would be release first week of September. A short time later, he predicted that it should launch on Friday, September 16. Today, Blass has followed up and reported that pre-orders would take place on Friday, September 9.

Apple are usually controversial with their dates cause Last year, Apple announced the iPhone on September 9, started pre-orders on September 12 and released it on September 25.

I guess we would just have to wait and see if these leak dates are right or wrong, only a matter of time could tell...

You can follow @evleaks on twitter for more apple and android leaks.

The word is that Saudi Arabia after blocking features on Viber and Whatsapp have now moved to block Facebook chat.

Features such as internet calling video have been banned. There has been no clear official reason beyond 'Regulations' for the block.

It is speculated that this is to protect indigenous telecom companies from losing revenue as internet calls help reduce costs of international calls or really lengthy discussions.

An official stated that the service with its features was banned because it failed to “comply with regulations”. He threatened that any other app that fails to comply with those regulations will also be banned.

“Appropriate action will be taken against applications or services that do not comply with the regulations,” the spokesman at the Saudi Arabian commission told Arab News.

HTC had a hard time of things last year with revenues and sales dropping in 2015. It was a forgettable year for them.

It's a new year though and the truth is, the potential release of any HTC phone brings about excitement, so you can imagine the excitement at the news that their upcoming offering, the Desire 628 has been leaked.

The HTC Desire appears to be a mid-range smartphone. With the leak already out there, it's likely we hear something official soon.

The person responsible for this leak is @the_malignant on twitter who seems to have reliable info on the phone.

The images provided by @the_malignant show the handset in two different color options: A white device with a blue/purple trim and a black one with red trimmings.

The specs of the phone were also leaked.
The info provided speculates that the HTC Desire 628 will have a 1.3GHz MediaTek MTK6753 octa-core processor and a 5-inch display with resolution of 1280 x 720 (HD).

Also 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (expandable with a microSD card) are thrown in there.

It's also been tipped to contain  a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and BSI sensor, a 5-megapixel shooter at the front, and a 2200 mAh battery.

It's a dual SIM handset (Isn't every android phone these days) and has a plastic unibody build.

As for the price of the phone, there's been no news yet, but it's only a matter of time before something pops on that end and we'll keep you posted on the development.

You can in the meantime keep yourselves busy with the images of the leaks below

Hey guys, i've got Good and Bad News for ya'll concerning one of Nigeria's fastest ISP (Internet Service Provider) Spectranet Nigeria , they will be rolling out a new plan on March 15 and it's due to perhaps the challenges facing the Nigerian economy. from the dollar to naira exchange rate fluctuation to a gradual fuel scarcity and every other thing in the country rising beyond expectation. (Pss! Sachet Water is officially N10).

Anyways i'm not here to talk about politics in the Nigerian economy, this is about Spectranet's new plan which i think might affect SME/Work At Home entrepreneurs. Well let's take a recap, if you remember i posted

Spectranet Nigeria now offers almost Unlimited Data Plan - See 2014 Prices.

sometime in 2014

Well the post however go huge views and i guess people loved the good news but this time i think it's going to be bad news for other people due to the price hike which went to over 40% increase and i think it's really sad.

See the image below for the new price plan rolling out on the 15th of March 2016...

New Plan Rates in Words:

  • 2GB - N3,000 - 24x7 - Monthly  - No Bonus

  • 5GB - N5,000 - 24x7 - Monthly - No Bonus

  • 20GB - N10,000 - 24x7 - Monthly  - Yes Bonus: 10GB +Free Night Browsing Unlimited

  • 50GB - N20,000 - 24x7 - Monthly - Yes Bonus: 10GB +Free Night Browsing Unlimited

  • 100GB - N40,000 - 24x7 - Monthly  - Yes Bonus: 10GB +Free Night Browsing Unlimited

  • 200GB - N70,000 - 24x7 - Monthly - Yes Bonus: 10GB +Free Night Browsing Unlimited

  • 20GB - N7,500 - 7pm-7am - Monthly - No Bonus

  • 5GB - N5,000 - 7pm-7am - Monthly - No Bonus

Compared to this back in 2014...

They really scrapped alot of plans tho!

Now let's see the difference using a plan as an example, back then and up till today(March 04) Spectranet Nigeria's Cheapest Night plan used to be N4,000 for 20GB 6pm to 8am but now the new price for this same plan is now N7,500 for 20GB 7pm to 7am. Old subscribers to this plan will never go for this trust me!

Well the special adviser to Spectranet Nigeria thought as much so what they did is, if you buy the 24x7 Plan which used to be N7,000 for 20GB monthly and now N10,000 for the same 20GB you get 10GB extra and UNLIMITED Night browsing(designed for people who don't like to sleep, this FREE browsing starts by 1AM and ends 7AM).

But this is the BIG KILL!!! Especially for those who used to subscribe for the N7,000 plan, N3,000 difference for an all night UNLIMITED BROWSING and 10GB extra should serve justice to that extra cost. I trust some Night surfers will abuse this but before the do they have to serve time till 1AM in the midnight before the FREE NIGHT BROWSING activates.

So the summary here is that, whether you like it or not Spectranet has upgraded their plan to take more money from your pocket to meet up with the current situation in the country. I'm certain this plan would beat their competitors Swift, Smile etc (Prove me wrong in the comments below)

Let me elaborate tho, with the dollar brouhaha and the so called Epileptic Power sector how do we expect this guys to cope ? Especially when they buy this data with Dollars from the Fiber Optics guys ? As at to Naira to One dollar is N330

I'm not justifying this hike but when a business has to Strive the customers are the ones to pay the Price!

See you guys later and hopefully my next post on Spectranet would be that they have finally brought back the 24/7 UNLIMITED PLAN!

It may just be the smartest move for Smartphones.

After years of struggling to maintain importance in the growing sector, BlackBerry will be focusing solely on Android in the coming year. The revelation was made Thursday at this year’s staging of the CES in Las Vegas. The news means BlackBerry will not be making any phones operating on the BlackBerry 10 system this year.

Last year the company announced it would create its first device to use the Android opearting system, the Priv, which will be sold by major carriers in the United States once the 60-day trial period with AT&T ends. Apparently, positive reception of the Priv prompted BlackBerry officials to rethink the company’s approach and, instead of alienating itself by continuing to create phones for its own system, will adopt Android as the go-to system in 2016.

In an interview with CNet, BlackBerry CEO John Chen said sales for the Priv have been good. “I’m taking a cautiously optimistic view,” Chen said. Optimistic enough to roll the phone out to 31 countries across the globe.

The initial asking price of $699, Chen said, will likely decrease as time goes on. So, BlackBerry 10 isn’t quite dead but it certainly looks as though it’s being moved to the old age home where it will likely quietly fade away.

Android Security has become even more vulnerable to Stagefright 2.0 thanks Zimperium, a mobile security company who revealed that this new exploits can haunt even more Android phones than it's original (Stagefright).

Ok, let's bring you upto speed, there's this virus/bug/exploiting app called Stagefright, it is a remotely exploitable software bug that affects versions 2.2 ("Froyo") and newer of the Android operating system. It allows an attacker to perform arbitrary operations on the victim device through remote code execution and privilege escalation. Security researchers demonstrate the bug with a proof of concept that sends specially crafted MMS messages to the victim device and in most cases requires no end-user actions upon message reception to succeed, while using the phone number as the only target information. (Via Wikipedia).

Now Stagefright 2.0 is out and it's even worse, it targets Android phones running 1.0 and up (over 1.4 Billlion people could be vulnerable), and what this does is that it can exploit your phone via web browser unlike it's predecessor that uses MMS (so be careful of shared links).

Google and other tech giants are already rolling out new updates that'll patch this exploits, we also learnt Google has patched the previous bug(Stagefright) in their latest update.

One of the major reason why people get vulnerable is that they don't like to update, they tend to wait for FREE wifi to update their OS because updates are usually high in bytes. Like a Samsung Galaxy J7 i was with few days ago, it had an update and it's about 329mb, the user didn't want to update using her own mobile data but if you take security seriously, you will update.

The good news now is that Google said it will issue a patch for the new Stagefright exploit this month (October) which was yesterday.

"As announced in August, Android is using a monthly security update process. Issues including the ones Zimperium reported, will be patched in the October Monthly Security Update for Android rolling out Monday, October 5th."

The most advance open source smartphone Operating System Android will be releasing its 6.0 Marshmallow starting 5 Oct 2015 and it'll be rolling out first to Google Nexus devices (Nexus 5,6,7,9 and Player).

Although i learnt some great features are coming with this new update and i'll be listing three of the most obvious and well creative features we perhaps never knew would be coming this soon. But before then you need to understand that if you don't get any push notification to download the update this year, sources says we can chill till early 2016 but i'm most certain there's going to be a way to get the update this year without waiting till it gets pushed to our devices (Just like How We Got Windows 10 Without Waiting *wink* ). We'll bring that tip one's it's available.

Some HTC phones that might get this Android 6.0 Marshmallow swiftly are HTC One M9, HTC One M8 and HTC One M9+ because they are high end smartphones with default Lollipop OS however, Sony and Samsung high end smartphones might also get this ASAP.

If your Android is Kitkat and lower, unfortunately your device might never see the daylight of Marshmallow, haven said that let's get back to the three hot features we can't wait to explore.

FINGERPRINT SUPPORT
Fingerprint sensors have already popped up here and there on Android phones, but soon, they're probably going to be everywhere. That's because Google is building dedicated support for fingerprint sensors into Android, so that phone makers don't have to code it all in on their own. That means your next Android phone will likely let you use a fingerprint sensor to unlock your phone, make payments, and log into various apps and services. Basically, it's going to be a huge convenience for both the people making Android phones and the people using them.

GOOGLE NOW ON TAP
Google Now on Tap is easily Marshmallow's standout feature. It takes Google Now — the predictive assistant that's been beside your home screen for a couple years — and lets it crawl through your apps so that you can get extra info on basically anything almost instantly.
Here's how it works: your press and hold the home button while inside of any app, and Google Now will read the screen, look for anything interesting — like the name of a celebrity, an event, or a location — and then return information on what it sees in a little popup box on the bottom of the screen.
If someone texts you the name of a restaurant, for instance, Now on Tap might see its name and present you with its location on a map. Or if you're on a news story about a celebrity, Now on Tap might pull up their information from Wikipedia or give you the chance to jump to their page in the IMDb app.
It's an incredibly cool feature, and our initial tests showed it working quite well (albeit under a controlled environment). This is going to be a big deal in Marshmallow and — more than likely — future versions of Android as well.

App Backup and Restore

Switching to a new phone or restoring an existing phone that you wipe is a huge pain with Android devices. Beginning with Marshmallow, however, that’s going to change.
When an Android 6.0 device is idle and connected to Wi-Fi, it will automatically backup app data and settings to Google Drive behind the scenes. If you ever wipe your phone or switch to a new one, you’ll finally be able to quickly and easily restore all of your apps as they were previously.

The official full android blackberry is finally out! BlackBerry revelaed the images of the Priv  two days ago and quite a number of people are loving it already although some hateful comment about the fact that the device is Slide.

The release date and price will be out but apparently not soon. According to blackberry official blog, this device is a privacy-enabled Android smartphone meaning with PRIV’s software enhancements, physical keyboard and oversized screen, all enabled by the slider form factor, we’re bringing privacy, productivity, and, oh yes, some sexy, back.

Because it’s Powered By Android, PRIV will also deliver the largest choice in apps and the most secure experience possible to the widest audience. PRIV users will enjoy choice, innovation, security, privacy AND productivity. In other words, no compromises. To satisfy the curiosity out there, here are the first official images of PRIV.

Indeed it's eye-catching and unique but the cons about this device is that the Slide is like a major seat back for it coz really nobody wants to go back to the early years of BlackBerry Torch where you're going to have to battle flex problems, i believe all this must have been worked on by BlakBerry engineers and we look forward to it.

Another thing that might make this more unique is variety in colors, not just just the formal White or Black.

Keep watching this blog and our social channels for more images, videos and details about PRIV’s specs. We’ll also soon post how you can register to receive the latest information about PRIV, including when and how to buy it.

Find out more about what it is and why in this video...

So you have finally upgraded to Windows 10, how does the future feel like ? Great i believe anyways there's something i figured out after i upgraded my Windows 8.1 to 10.

I discovered during the upgrade, Windows did alot and left alot without cleaning up its mess.

First of all i had 43GB before the upgrade, after the upgrade i had 39.8GB which i wasn't pleased with so i clicked on DISK CLEAN.

How To Do Disk Clean Task ? Goto This PC, Right Click On Your Main Disk! Usually Disk (C:)

It took awhile but the result was too small so i clicked on CLEAN UP SYSTEM FILES, this took longer than expected.. See the result below!

From above screenshot, you'll notice Windows created a previous windows installation folder(which its folder is Windows.old) i guess just incase the upgrade fails it'll automagically revert to it's earlier version which i think is good but bad again coz for those who don't use System utilities like this would just wonder what the heck is Windows.old and why has their storage reduced!

Also Temporary Windows Installations Files was about 3.67GB, in total i'll be freeing up 22.6GB! isn't that awesome ?

So if you've upgraded don't hesitate to do a disk clean up.

WARNING: If you delete the previous windows files, if anything goes wrong with your current windows you won't be able to roll back to the previous installation.
