There have been rumblings, links, reports, rumors and all sorts surrounding the Blackberry Mercury, but it seems that will all soon be at an end.

It has been announced that we will be getting the full lowdown of the upcoming BlackBerry Mercury at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona this year.

Many have been curious to see what Blackberry would whip up with their latest play on the smartphone market and many would hope they can bring something good to the tabel.

The company took Twitter to announce the launch event, which is set to take place on February 25 at 7:00 p.m. local time.

The Mercury will be the first foray by TCL after the company took over the struggling Blackberry and will now make mobile phones with the Blackberry name.

Not much is known about the system, but the little we do know is that it'll come with Android 7.0 Nougat and a USB Type-C port. We also know that it has a rather hefty rubber and metal body.

That's about it unfortunately. Blackberry keeping their cards to their chest is intriguing though and it is hoped that it doesn't turn out to be just for nothing.
I guess two weeks isn't too long to wait, we'll wait and see.

With the CES 2017 fast approaching, news, rumours, soundbites and so on have been flooding in about new tech and so on. One of the most exciting has been the BlackBerry 'Mercury' produced by TCL communication.

The company now has branding rights to BlackBerry and while BlackBerry themselves won't be making any more phones, TCL will be and they have through Steve Cistulli (President and General Manager of TCL) dropped a teaser for the Mercury.

The phone is expected to debut at CES 2017 and while little is known about the phone, it is hoped and believed that it will go some way in restarting the popularity of the BlackBerry phones.

What we do know is that we would have a return of the QWERTY keyboard which has always been one of the most attractive features of the Blackberry.

So till CES 2017 comes, feast your eyes on this teaser video.
