Man responsible For the Android Takes on The iPhone with new Venture | Mobile phone latest news Google+ Follow Smartfonefreaks on Twitter

The man responsible of the Android system that so many of us use today Andy Rubin might have left Google, but he's definitely not done making phones.

Rubin yesterday he posted a cryptic tweet in which we got a sneak peek into his new project with his company, Essential. The tweet said "eager to get it in more people's hands." We have to assume he's talking about the phone someone's holding in the picture.

There's precious little to see besides the top right corner of the phone which shows the time and a few icons.

In a Bloomberg profile of Essential from January, the new smartphone was described as a "high-end smartphone with a large edge-to-edge screen that lacks a surrounding bezel." Looks like that bezel-less and big screen concept will be reality, based on the photographic evidence.

With the new phone Rubin plans to do battle with both the iPhone and Google's (His previous employers) Pixel.
